THREE FOODS THAT WILL NATURALLY WHITEN YOUR TEETH

Strawberries

The magic that is malic acid. A powerhouse fruit that holds the benefits of this tooth whitening enzyme has proven to naturally whiten teeth as the acid breaks away stains. Brushing with a combination of these crushed berries with ½ a teaspoon of baking soda is a great natural whitening remedy. While baking soda has been considered safe and only a mild abrasive on the teeth it is important not do this more than once a fortnight to avoid enamel breakdown!

Pineapples and Papaya

Great in a pina colada and even better for your teeth! A 2012 study compared the stain-removing capabilities of a toothpaste containingPapain and Bromelain (fruit enzymes found in papaya and pineapple)to a regular toothpaste. The study concluded that the toothpastes containing the fruit enzymes were more effective at breaking down stains than the regular toothpaste was and resulted in a whiter smile!

Milk

Caesin is a protein found in milk and dairy foods alike. In combination with calcium and phosphorous found in foods like cheese and yoghurts, a protective barrier is painted over your teeth protecting it from the risk of tooth decay and breakdown. Casein as a protein has also been clinically proven to restore your teeth after acid attacks that breakdown your teeth.  Who knew!?
